  Great question. Some of my research is funded by Rolls-Royce engines, so on those projects, I’m limited to topics relevant to current jet engines.
  
  However, as a researcher, I can also choose to work on different topics in my area of expertise (aerospace engineering). So, now I’m starting to look at hypersonic vehicle research (planes that can go faster than 5 times the speed of sound), and how to make them work better so that they can take passengers someday!
